We made Orange and Raisin Cupcakes and Vanilla and Raspberry Icecream for my child's birthday party. It ended up looking like this:

Budget style

I love these H&M treggings for 9,90€, can't get enough of them. They were super affordable, they fit nicely, they're comfortable, and I think I look great in them, so I have been wearing them pretty much non stop, alternating between the black ones and the rusty brown ones. Today I paired the black ones off with a taupe blouse, a colour combination that I really love. My fave pair of nude shoes goes a long way to make this look polished and chic.

Adoro estes treggings da H&M por 9,90€, não consigo fartar-me deles. Foram super em conta, servem que nem uma luva, são confortaveis e eu acho que me ficam lindamente, de modo que tenho-os usado em modo non stop, alternando entre os pretos e os castanho ferrugem. Hoje combinei os pretos com uma camisola toupeira, uma combinação de cores que eu adoro. Os meus sapatos preferidos em tom nude fazem com que o look fique cuidado e chic.

The work of seven days

This last week was spent redoing my hallway and my bedroom. I have always wanted a pop of colour to greet me as I entered my home so I decided to have one wall of my hallway painted in a bright greenish blue. The name of this colour is Amazonian Green. It looks rather blue to me, but hey, it's a great colour to have in a hallway that tends to look a bit dark and sad. I had a bit left so I decided to add a bit of white to it, in order to dilute the colour and use in in my child's favourite corner on his bedroom - since the wall against which the bed is set is already painted ina very light powder blue. It actually looks amazing, the combination of colours. The letter holder and the pink jewelry box were decorated by me, as well as the bench/chest in my child's room.

As for my bedrrom, lately I have been craving a wall of blue with a hint of lilac. Yes, I know, it´s so Blais Waldorf, and now that I finnaly got it all it's missing is a couple of black picture frames with black and white pics in it! I also took the chance to do a little decorating, changing some furniture around and getting myself a cozy corner by the window where I can curl up and read. The bird pictures above the chair were done by me as well, using the technique of paper napkin on canvas.



Gucci, 2011-2012

If there is one collection for the next season that has truly inspired me and hit all the spots - and I do mean ALL the spots - it has been Gucci's amazing colour statement for Fall Winter 2011-2012.The colours are just mind blowing, in their gem tones, their mustards, oranges, the perfect teal - my fave colour - the purples, browns, greys and aubergines. The cuts are spectacular, the skirts are so 70's working girl - yes, they remind me a lot of Mary Tyler Moore, and I loved her show. - the trousers, so Dietrich, the hats, the coloured furs, the coats, trenchs and jackets... I am in love with this colection, I am in love with the seventies vibe it has, mixed with a very high end, very classical look what with the chignons to which I have been veering towards lately, the big sunglasses and the make up... I feel totally inspired by these looks. If only I could afford them...

Caramel, hazelnut and raspberry

To celebrate the return of lovely, clear blue skies and sunny weather I opted for a combination of pink and earthy tones. The nearly rusty brown pants are to die for, ultra comfy and stylish, I've been wearing them like mad lately. The tan shoes with their ever so walkable heel, the hazelnut and bright fuchsia cardi matching the bright pink t shirt, paired of with my fave bag ever makes it all come together as perfect city girl chic.

Para celebrar o regresso dos céus azuis e cheios de sol, optei por uma combinaão de rosa e tons terra. O castanho quase ferrugem destas calças é de morrer, são super comfortaveis e cheias de estilo, tenho-as usado como doida ultimamente. Os sapatos beges com o seu salto super práctico, o tom avelã com pormenores fuchsia do cardigã a combinar com a t shirt rosa forte, combinado com a minha mala preferida faz com que tudo se coadune num chic citadino perfeito.

Grey weather

Summer seems to have taken a holiday these days, and it has been rainy and humid and hot, the kind of weather that does not agree with me in the least. A grey dress was all I could think of tp wear in comppliance with the grey skies above my head...

O Verão parece que foi de férias por aqui, e tem estado quente, humido e chuvoso, o tipo de tempo que eu não suporto. Um vestido cinzento foi tudo o que me lembrei de vestir, em consonância com os céus cinzentos por cima da minha cabeça.

Pink is my new obsession...

Actually, it is a very old obsession, I have always loved pink, in all its different hues, and this bright pink dress is the perfect pick me up for what has been a very down feeling week.

Na verdade é uma obsessão já antiga, sempre adorei cor de rosa em todos os seus tons, e este vestido rosa vivo é perfeito para me trazer um pouco de boa disposição ao que tem sido uma semana extremamente deprimente.

Bird of paradise, Birds of prey...

Started on a new job today. Not excited. Not in the least. Not what I applied for, not what I wanted, but I have bills to pay and a child to feed, so had to say yes. Feeling very down and very blue. Better days will come, eh?

Comecei hoje num trabalho novo. Nada excitada. Mesmo nada excitada. Não é aquilo a que me candidatei, não é o que eu queria, mas tenho contas a pagar e uma criança para alimentar, de modo que tive de aceitar. Sinto-me mesmo deprimida. Melhores dias virão, eh?

Recently aquired

I dodged the sales and instead decided to stock up on a few basi items ready for Fall. Like I said before, I can see where I am going colour and style wise, and it shows perfectly well in my new aquisitions, most of which revolve around the theme of caramel, light tan, brown. Ever since I became a blond I have been giving these colours a bigger chance than I had ever done when I wore my hair black or dark brown. They seem to complement my gold locks a lot better than any other colour, and I feel always so chic in these tones. Shoes, purse and earrings are from Primark; cardi is from Zara and treggings are from H&M.

Fugi aos saldos e ao invés decidi investir numas quantas peças básicas para a próxima estação. Como já disse antes, já percebi para onde caminho em termos de cores e estilo no próximo Outono, e isso viu-se nas minhas novas aquisições, as quais revolvem em torno do tema crómatico de caramelo, beige e castanho. Desde que virei loura que tenho andado a dar mais preferencia a estes tons do que alguma vez dei queando pintava o cabelo de preto ou castanho escuro. Estas cores parecem complementar melhor o tom dourado dos meus cabelos do que qualquer outra cor, e sinto-me sempre super chic com estes tons. Os sapatos, a carteira e os brincos são Primark, o cardigan é da Zara e as calças são H&M.
