Yellow, like the sun

This is like the most unflattering and the most fattening outfit I could have chosen. C'mon, a yellow tank top and a pair of white pants? No heels? Really? But it is also the best outfit to keep me from melting under the impossible heat that today is sporting ever since early morning. It was hot at 9 a.m. when I left for my morning walk, and sunny, and bright. It was shinning with a kind of light that you can find nowhere else in the world, not even in Spain, which is right next door. It's the Lusitanian light, something so unique, and part of what makes this country what it is. And the heat! It is not a tropical heat, nor a mediterranean one, not even a subsaharian heat. It is a Lusitanian scorcher, intersepersed with a breeze that, not being warm, it is not cold either, giving you some respite from the heatwaves, and helping you breathe. This can only be found here, and it belongs to us.

Este é talvez o outfit que menos me favorece e que mais me engorda. Por favor, um tank top amarelo? Com um par de calças brancas? E sem um salto alto para alongar um bocadinho? A sério? Mas tmabém é o melhor outfit para me impedir de derreter debaixo do calorão que se faz sentir por aqui, desde manhã cedo. Estava uma brasa logo ás 9h da manhã, quando saí para dar a minha caminhada, e muito sol, e com uma luz brutal. É uma luz que não se vê em mais lado nenhum, nem mesmo em Espanha, que é já aqui ao lado. É uma luz Lusitana, algo tão único, e que faz deste país aquilo que ele é. E o calor! Não é um calor tropical, nem mediterranico, nem ao menos sub-sahariano. É uma brasa Lusitana, cortada por uma brisa que, sem ser própriamente quente, não chega a ser fria, mas que nos refresca das ondas de calor, e nos ajuda a respirar. Isto é algo que só se encontra aqui, e é algo só nosso.
