Casual friday

Being unemployed has its perks - if you put asside the lack of money, that is. For one, everyday can be casual friday if you want it. There are no dress codes, and that is something right up my alley. I like the freedmon of wearing what I want whenever I want. But it also has a downside, style wise. Most days I catch myself in jeans, flats anmd comfy sweaters, and then I have to push myself into glaming it up a little. But today it is a friday and I feel at liberty to pull out the old blue jeans, pair them with a royal blue top, royal blue ballet flats and my faithful mint green jacket. Problem is it's pouring outside... where did Spring go?

Estar desempregada tem as suas vantagens - se esquecermos por momentos a falta de rendimentos, que eu não tenho subsidio de desemprego. Por exemplo, todos os dias podem ser casual friday, se eu quiser. Não há dress codes, e isso é algo que me agrada de sobremaneira. Gosto de ter a liberdade de vestir o que quero, quando quero. Mas também tem as suas desvantagens em termos de estilo. Na maioria das vezes dou por mim a sacar dos jeans, sapatos rasos e camisolas comfortáveis, e então tenho de me forçar a usar algo um pouco mais glam. Mas hoje é sexta feira e sinto-me na liberdade de enfiar um velho par de jeans, combina-los com um top azulão e sabrinas do mesmo tom e o meu fiel blusão verde menta. O problema é que chove torrencialmente lá fora... para onde é que fugiu a Primavera??

Casual stripes

Bold colours and stripes, what more could a girl want? I love this old coral stripes sweater, I love its neckline, the colour, the feel of it and the way it drapes round my body. This is one timeless piece, to be sure. And these blue pants I got from HM, man I wanna live in them, they're that comfy and cool! Breaking out my white Keds in a casual but stylish outfit, perfect for a sunny Spring day when all I have left to do is pick my kid up from school.

Cores fortes e riscas, que mais pode uma miúda querer? Adoro esta velha camisola ás riscas coral, adoro o secote, a cor, o toque da malha e a maneira como cai no corpo. É uma peça intemporal, certamente. E estas calças azuis da HM, céus, apetece viver nelas, são tão comfortáveis e giras! Estreando os meus ténis brancos num look casual mas com classe, perfeito para um dia de Primavera cheio de sol em que nada mais tenho para fazer a não ser ir buscar o meu filho á escola.

Every week I get an ad prospect from these shoes retailers on my mail box. Today I decided to search them on line and see what it is all about. And in the midst of all the fug - believe me, there were some scary fug ugly things! - I found a few treasures that I wouldn't mind adding to my shoe collection. Some I might even say I'm in desperate need of... and I don't care how poor the quality is!

Todas as semanas recebo um folheto destes tipos no correio, e hoje decidi pesquisa-los na net. No meio da bimbalhice - e acreditem, havia por lá bimbalhice de meter dó! - encontrei uns tesourinhos que não me importava nada de adicionar á minha colecção de sapatunfos... e quero lá saber se a qualidade é fraca!

Shine on

I have been keeping this HM blouse hidden because of the rain, but finally the sun is out and the weather is perfect for it. I love the detail of the coral peter pan collar sprinkled with shiny stones, it looks like tiny dew drops on a flower. To let the blouse shine in all its glory I paired it with a simple black trouser and black patent wedges, but couldn't resist adding my mint jacket ... the pastel mix is all the rave, and mint is a must this season, right?

Tenho mantido esta blusinha da HM escondida no fundo do roupeiro por causa do mau tempo, mas finalmente o sol brilha e está um calorzinho agradável, tempo perfeito para a usar. Adoro o detalhe da gola coral salpicada de pedrarias brilhantes, parece uma chuva de orvalho sobre uma flor. Para que a blusa brilhasse em toda a sua glória usei-a com um par de calças pretas bem simples e sapatos de cunha em verniz preto, mas não resisti a vestir o meu blusão verde menta... misturar tons pastel é tão "do momento", e o verde menta é uma das cores da estação, certo?

Keds

I have been a fan of these for ages. I remember when I was still at college these were my go to every Spring and Summer - I had a very rockabilly dressing style back then, and a pair of Keds did the trick perfectly. I became obsessed with them when watching the movie Shag and seeing them in the girls' feet, and I did not rest until I got myself a pair. Now Spring is here and I can't wait to break out my pair of white ones. The problem is that after seeing the flower print ones... I'm newly obsessed!

Sou fã de ténis Keds faz anos. Lembro-me de quando andava na faculdade estes ténis eram o meu calçado de eleição na Primavera e no Verão - era muito rockabilly nessa altura, e um par de Keds ficava impecavel com as minhas roupas retro. Tornei-me obcecada com eles ao ver o filme Shag - passado nos fins da década de 50, inicios de 60 - e reparar que as miúdas usavam desses ténis com as suas calças capris, e não descansei até arranjar um par, afinal era mesmo assim que eu andava vestida! Agora que a Primavera chegou mal posso esperar para estrear os meus bem branquinhos. O problema é que depois de ter visto uns ás flores... estou obcecada de novo!!

Spring Flowers

It's a beautiful day outside, and it already smells like Spring. So the most natural thing is to bring out the flowers in your wardrobe, right? I paired this little HM cardi I snapped at the sales with a pair of wide black trousers and patent wedges. The touch of sheer fabric imprinted with little japanese purple flowers adds the touch of spring to a somewhat formal outfit.

Está um lindo dia lá fora, e já cheira a Primavera. Por isso o mais natural é trazer flores para as nossas roupas, certo? Usei este cardigan da HM que arrecadei por uma pechincha nos saldos com um par de calças largas pretas, e sapatos de cunha em verniz. O toque do tecido meio transparente salpicado com florzinhas roxas tipo print japonês dá um toque primaveril a um traje um nadinha formal.

Tried and Tested

I have been using this Natural Honey body lotion for nearly a month now, and I have to say, I'm damned well impressed!! It leaves my skin feeling silky and smooth, it does help disguise some of the cellulitis, and it is rapidly absorbed. For 6€ or thereabouts, I'd say it's an all and all great buy!

Tenho andado a usar esta loção da Natural Honey para peles com celulite há cerca de um mês, e devo dizer, estou bastante bem impressionada. Deixa-me a pele macia e sedosa, ajuda a disfarçar alguma celulite, e é rápidamente absorvida. Por cerca de 6€ diria que é uma excelente compra!

After getting hooked on Wallander, and with Spring just around the corner, I am felling myself in the mood for a haircut, and this is the one that has been playing in my mind. I was actually trying to grow my bangs... What do you think, should I go for the blonde version of this?

Após me ter viciado no Wallander, e com a Primavera ali ao virar da esquina, tenho andado com vontade de fazer um corte ao cabelo, e este é o que me tem andado a dar volta ao cérebro. Ando eu a ver se deixo crescer a franja... o que é que acham, lanço-me na versão loura?

Cold, grey, unnapetizing day. I either have a very bad case of hay fever or a terrible cold. Not up to much today.
